Managing Your Active Sessions

Every time you log in from a different device or browser, that's a "session." Managing your sessions helps you stay secure by knowing exactly where you're logged in and removing access you no longer need.

Why Check Your Sessions?

Reviewing your active sessions helps you:

  • Spot unauthorized access: See if someone else is using your account
  • Clean up old logins: Remove sessions from devices you no longer use
  • Stay organized: Know where you're logged in
  • React quickly: If something looks wrong, terminate it immediately

Viewing Active Sessions

Step 1: Go to Active Sessions

  1. Log in and open your account (click your name in the top right)
  2. In the sidebar, under Security, choose Active Sessions

Step 2: View Your Sessions

Every device currently signed in is listed.

What Each Session Shows

For each session, you'll see:

Information Example
Device Chrome Browser, Safari Browser, Mobile Device
IP address 203.0.113.7
Last Active 2 hours ago
Created Jan 05, 2025

Terminating a Session

If you see a session you don't recognize or want to remove:

Ending a Single Session

  1. Find the session in the list
  2. Click Terminate
  3. The session ends immediately
  4. That device is logged out instantly

Ending All Other Sessions

To log out of everything except your current device:

  1. Look for Terminate All Other Sessions
  2. Click it
  3. Confirm when prompted
  4. All other sessions are terminated

This is useful if you:

  • Lost a device
  • Suspect unauthorized access
  • Want a fresh start

Recognizing Suspicious Sessions

Normal Sessions

  • Devices you own
  • Locations where you live or work
  • Browsers you regularly use
  • Recent activity times that make sense

Suspicious Sessions

Watch out for:

  • Unknown locations: Cities or countries you haven't visited
  • Unknown devices: Device types you don't own
  • Odd timing: Activity when you were asleep
  • Multiple sessions: Many sessions from different places at once

If You See Something Suspicious

Don't panic! Here's what to do:

Step 1: Terminate the Session

Click Terminate on any session you don't recognize.

Step 2: Change Your Password

  1. Go to your account and choose Password (under Security)
  2. Enter your current password, then a strong, unique new one
  3. Click Change My Password

Step 3: Enable 2FA

If not already enabled, add two-factor authentication for extra protection.

Step 4: Review Recent Activity

Check your order history and account activity for anything you didn't do.

Step 5: Contact Support

If you see unauthorized purchases or changes, contact us immediately.

Session Timeout

Sessions don't last forever:

  • Active use: Session stays active while you're using the site
  • Inactive timeout: Sessions may expire after extended inactivity
  • Security events: Changing your password signs out every other session

Best Practices

  1. Check sessions monthly: Make it a habit to review
  2. Remove old sessions: Terminate sessions from devices you no longer use
  3. Don't stay logged in on shared computers: Always log out on public/shared devices
  4. Use strong passwords: Makes unauthorized sessions less likely
  5. Enable 2FA: Even if someone has your password, they can't create new sessions without your phone

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I see what was done in each session?

The session list shows when sessions were active, but not specific actions. For detailed activity, check your order history and account activity.

Why do I have so many sessions?

Each browser and device creates a separate session. If you use Chrome and Safari on the same computer, that's two sessions. This is normal!

Will terminating a session lose my shopping cart?

Your cart belongs to the browser you shopped in, not your account. Terminating a session on another device leaves that browser's cart in place; terminating the session you're using signs you out and starts a fresh cart.
