Getting a Receipt for Your Membership

Every membership payment generates a receipt. There are three ways to get one.

Option 1: The Email Receipt

When your payment succeeds, Stripe sends a receipt to the email address on your account. This is a PDF suitable for most personal records.

Check your inbox (and spam folder) after each recurring charge.

Option 2: Your Subscriptions Page

Sign in and visit Subscriptions (under your account menu). Click the membership you want. You'll see a list of every payment with a Download link next to each one.

This is the fastest way to pull several months of receipts at once.

Option 3: The Stripe Customer Portal

For a full statement of every payment on a specific subscription:

  1. On your Subscriptions page, click Manage Billing on the membership.
  2. You'll land on Stripe's secure customer portal.
  3. Every invoice — past, current, and upcoming — is downloadable as a PDF.

The Stripe portal is also where you update your card, change your billing address, and cancel if needed.

For Tax Purposes

If you're deducting a membership as a business or professional expense (common for creators, educators, and consultants), the Stripe PDF invoice is what your accountant will want. It includes:

  • The creator's business name and address
  • Your name and billing address
  • The payment amount, fees, and taxes (if applicable)
  • The date of payment
  • A unique invoice number

Some creators set up tax-deductible donations instead of memberships. If the creator is a registered nonprofit, their tax receipts include their EIN and tax-exempt status — ask them if you're unsure.

Annual Statements

Most members only need individual receipts. If you want a consolidated annual statement, email the creator directly — they can export one from their dashboard.
